Content Production

Greetings. I'm new here.

I'm part of a group interested in production of very high quality content for the web.

We want to shoot in-demand, edgy images; fetish, bondage, et cetera, but we want to do it in original and creative ways with regards to visual design, yet still remaining HOT.

Call this part "tip solicitation" and part market research:

As webmasters, what would you like to see more of in content? What is selling right now? What could pull you out of the doldrums, what would you buy right now if it were out?

Exclusive means one of two things...

#1. You just havent found anyone else who the photographer sold the set too, and

#2.Real expensive crap for nothing...

Maening, you can buy exclusive shit, pay like $2,000 for say 500 images, whereas, I can be a real dick and sell 500,000 images that are non exclsuive for say $100 if I need to...

whose site will keep members longer...

Everyday a new swinging dick with a digital camera they bought at walmart and their 300 pound wife think theyre going to do something totally "new" in the adult business.

I see it all the time, they start, spam everywhere, then get links posted, then 2 weeks later dissapear from the net.

Look at ynotmasters, out of like 600 links for content rpoviders, like 70% are 404s...

Content is a hard business dude, ride high now, then come down to a real playing level later...

Let's see what you have... I can appreciate creativity and pics that actually take into consideration color, composition, etc... If I like them, I know two or three people that would buy them.

ACS, that would be an excellent reply if you could possibly be an eensy bit more specific.

1) Where do people typically go wrong?
2) The content has to come from somewhere. Somebody's got to film it; people buy it otherwise there wouldn't be an industry at all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in what people have to say, positive or especially negative; I'm not some rose-colored-glasses-wearing innocent. I do know a little bit about how this business works and that's why I want to make god damn sure I know negatives as well as positives.

Specifically why do people fail?

ACS, I assume from your nickname that you manufacture adult content. You must be a real smart guy to succeed if the business is so hard. Otherwise why would you be doing it?

Dude, this life sucks. I work about 19 hours a day 7 days a week. Yes we do make full legnth movies for sale in retail stores.

What makes people fail? Lack of drive...

When I started, I didnt make one penny for almost 7 months...

Not ONE CENT. Literally...

I kept with it, and while everyone else was buying from the "big" names I worked and worked, made deals, called photographers the whole way around the world, ran up my phone bill so much i had to get it turned on in my wifes name, then her sisters, then her cousins name...

Now 2 years later, I did over 7,000 uniques to my adult content site today alone, and I have 7 employees with 2 of them being computer science college proffesors.

YES you are so right. I have watched this field since it's been around, being a horny sicko.

This looks like a business that requires people networks above all else. I suspect that very reason is why companies with $$$$ get into the arena and fail miserably, perhaps because they didn't start small, and therefore they didn't build up the commodities that money cannot buy...

Ahem... Smoking items are illegal, movies have a huge budget, so yes, when working with 5 million $$ to make a movie you can get away with it. Giving a big fucking bong to a stripper and say look like your smoking it, is breaking alot of laws...
