Something about the SLR just doesn't look practical. Who needs more poweer than the SLK already provides? I'm a grown man, I'm not drag racing anywhere. I live in a metropolitan area where I'm lucky to be able to do 100 for more than a minute.

get used to it, manual gear boxes will soon be all but gone. Don't be fooled....these cars aren't fitted with "steptronic" (aka torque converters) they are REAL electrohydrolic gearboxes. Once you drive a Ferrari with paddle shifters, or even an M3 with SMG II. You will all but forget about manuals. I am thinking abou getting the slk55 I just can nto justify the price of the sl55 but the retractable hard top and the fact that it is even with 80-100K porches for 60K makes me go hmmmmm. bang for the buck... slk55 is good.. still ahev to go test drive it and see if I like it as much as the porsche.Comment
