    What did you do

with your time when you were waiting for an answer to an offer you placed on a house & was supposed to be forthcomming in just a few hours?

It's getting a tad difficult to concentrate here!

We called everybody we knew. Then we couldn't stop talking about all the changes we were going to make. It was a fixer upper. But we love it now.

This is a great old Victorian that was built in 1903 with a nice view of the Cascades & Lake Washington in a high foilage area of Seattle. The current owners have refurbished it and kept it in immaculate shape!

I love old houses that have been kept up yet retain their original charm/essence.

i have a nitemare story about our 1st attempt at buying a home! Ok, so we put in a purchase offer in June, they countered the next day, we agreed, closing date was set for end of August. End rolls around, their lawyers says they didn't get some paperwork in on time, its a short sale, gonna take a few more weeks, he's gonna expedite the situation. So our lawyer is calling on a daily basis, whats going on, bla bla bla, so welcome to the beginning of October. Lawyer calls, the house is being sold at the courthouse in 10 mins. The sellers never mentioned that they had already lost thier home due to foreclosure, they had been issued 2 warnings PRIOR to putting it on the market, and they were issued the final one the day after they accepted our purchase offer.

So then we started looking again, found a great place, the woman who owned it was dead, so I took a chance and bid low, figured the bank had no emotional attachment on the house, it was christmas time, no one wants a pile of paperwork on the desk, so we bid 30K under the asking price, they countered and asked for 2K more than we proposed and we agreed! Closed the 2nd week of Feb. So it took like 2 months to go through

We've repainted almost every room, tore up carpets, redid the hardwood floors, and have a lot more we're gonna do in the spring, but we love it!!

              Congrats & best of luck

Thanks..hoping the warm, sunny weather holds for another month for the move.

P.S. What is funny about this buy is that as a JOKE, I told them (the owners) I wanted their huge aquarium of tropical fish. THEY THREW IT IN AS PART OF THE SALE..tank and all!
