SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!

I am using IE 6, and it has been doing great, I loved it...... BUT for the past three damn days it seems to have taken on it's own life. It has gotten to a point where if I hit a link it will take me to some site that has nothing to do with the link I was trying to go to....... like a previously viewed site or some shit...... or it will tell me this page doesn't exist when I know damn well it does, I was just there.

I first thought it might be IE, but Netscape is doing it too. I ran PC-Cillan on it and it says there is not a virus, I dumped all caches and I emptied everything, cookies, all of it. It will do ok for a couple of hours and then it starts all over again. Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen and if so, how the hell do you fix it?

And NO AMP....... I will NOT format c: LOL

This is driving me mad!!!

PC-Cillin is the culprit!!

I bet you have web security and/or web filtering turned on. Turn them both off
and your problem will go away.

You don't need that crap to protect you while surfing. Just make sure that your anti-virus program is set to examine every file on create, copy or read etc. and you'll be fine.

Try going to 'Add /Remove programs' and removing the 'browsing enhancements' and/or 'Smart tags'.

Throw it on the ground and stomp on it real hard.

One way or another that will take care of it.

I would suggest checking to see if the computer is plugged in. Nasty things can happen when it isn't.

Tam ... I've had that same fuckin problem with ie 6 ... I think it has to do with some god aweful advertising deal they cut. but I'll have situations where it'll give me a "sorry the url doesn't exist" page and then I'll retype the exact same url and it'll let it through... fucked up mojo.

Your computer has been infected with the Microsoft virus. Please shoot the computer several time and set your house on fire to resolve the problem.

Then call BG & tell `em

ok I did all of this except format c.......

I threw the bastard on the ground and stomped on it but all I did was fuck up a perfectly innocent keyboard, thank you kimmy.

I hit it with a hammer, but now I have a huge gaping hole in my damn tower, I am trying to do major surgery, I think it missed most of the important organs.......

I plugged it in and the shit just started yelling at me, somehting about trying to sleep...... so now I have to unplug it again and be very quiet because it is sleeping.....

I have come to the final conclusions that my insanity has now officially rubbed off on my new pc and I am going to have to take it in for counseling and see if maybe that will help it, although up to date it has yet to help me at all.

DAMMIT

I had exact same problem with win98 one time and I couldn't even log onto dogpile.com
When I located the IP addresses and entered them into the browser I could view the page.
I spent hours trying to fix it and drew the conclusion that my setup was sending wrong information to the name servers.
I formatted c:
