Conversion Ratios are Bullshit
Time to wake up. Conversion ratios are meaningless. Do not, I repeat, do not judge how well a sponsor in particular is performing for you based on their conversion ratio. A 1:48 sounds good to you? Sure it does, and it's doing those numbers based on the 3rd page into the tour. A ratio of 1:1200 look good to you? It should, if the sponsor is counting off the first page (the initial click). If you want to figure it all out, then by all means go ahead, but what you should look at is the bottom line. How much did you make in pure dollars from that sponsor last month? Forget the conversion ratio, you can't take that to the blackjack tables with you.

Total raw traffic sent / $$$ earned = decision whether to keep sponsor or not!

anyhow... my point was just that the hype on the boards surrounding great conversion ratios.. (ie.. "wow, my shit is converting at 1:25!") is just that, hype.
and I just felt like saying so. :-) So there.. nya.. :-) |

Evil Chris is totally RIGHT !! All conversion ratio's on GFY are useless. You all compare apples with pears. The click ratio on my main page is about 10 times better than in all other pages. Furthermore what does a ratio say if one sponsors has only ugly looking banners to advertise and another high attractive banners? What do you think will happen when both sites are equal in quality/price/etc? Simply comparing conversion ratio's is very dangerous !!
