100 Beatles Fans :pimp

50 is doing great making the money but, it's clear that there are people behind the scenes making even more money on his loud mouth. Although unlike 50 they will be alive to spend it whereas 50's chances of getting murdered for the trash he thinks he can talk are very slim. If that should happen, the retards will then start comparing him to big and pac for sure. The End.

I rather hear a track by Jay-Z where he tells how it was and the how things turned around, whereas he then gave back to the community....Jay-Z goes back to Marcy projects and gets love. 50 has to watch his ass everywhere he goes in his own hood.

R.I.P Big L,Big poppa,Tupac

Big L was the biggest tragedy in the biz
notice how he has yet to be whored by money hungry dirty little P Diddy wannabes?

amazing lyricist, wicked flow, good content...I still check it.
R.I.P.

NB - Fifty cent eats balls. His label makes him look wealthy, it's a standard trick. he's a tool, specifically, a marketing tool. He makes almost no $$ on his albums (he's produced by Sony - do I need to draw a map?), and live shows he probably sees about 50% of the profits. Endoursements - he probably sees the loot. He's a bum. Jadakiss lays it out with his house arrest bullshit

n0de 03-13-2005 11:52 PM

Exactly, I heard him live on Hot97 one day while driving where he sang candy shop, I wanted to barf, sounded like a moron!

I didn't mention Big L because anyone who knows the real truth has him in mind way before big and pac even. I cant help but to throw the L up when I hear the knowledge he brings.

Jay-Z on MTV unplugged on the other hand, now thats talent!

"I got my MBA at Marcy Projects" - Sean Carter

Call me a hater if you'd like, I think hes shit not because of the money he may or may not have, but rather because his beats sound the same there hasnt been a single verse from him that made me think "oh snap, thats original" a single time.

"Cause real gangsta ass niggas niggas don't run their mouths" =)

Jaz-ze surpises me once in a while. I saw him a few years ago in trinidad when he was filming the big Pimping video. He was being real quiet, I think the real gangstars scared him. And the greed is a little tiring. that being said, he has done some crazy things musically and creatively, and he's at least a little more positive than those 50 lowlifes.

Sean Carter is the Paris Hilton of Rap music.
(he does not participate in hip hop projects) - he came out of nowhere and nobody really knows what he does (well). He made his $$ of biggie's death in such a sleazy fashion, re-releasing an album and sampling himself in right after he was murdered...utter bullshit. He can't flow, dance, act - all he can do is dress nice...like Paris.

The mere fact they are comparing him with a band that broke up over 35 years ago shows the awesome power and success of the Beatles.

No there will never be another Beatles or another period so rich in musical talent as the late 60s. Look at the bands around in those days, think of the spending power of kids and then you have an idea of the Beatles achievement.

We could buy albums from people like The Who, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Kinks, Dylan, plus many many others. These bands rose in the late 60s but were around in the early 60s and selling.

Todays music industry is run by the marketing department and they will not allow a performer to rise up the level of the groups from the 60s. The will kil this guy off and move onto the next artist as soon as they see a bigger profit.

No more White Album, Sgt Peppers, Tommy, Electric Ladyland, Dark Side of the Moon, Highway 61 Revisited etc.

yeah, but his shit is predictable. you know where 50-cent's rhymes are going - he ain't what could be called versatile.

unless you're talking about jay-ze - every word in every line in every song is there for a reason. he chose it.

mistress69 03-14-2005 12:06 AM

50 cent sucks

n0de 03-14-2005 12:07 AM

Exactly, Jay-z's albums tell a full story about his life....50's shit is all about how hes up in the club, or robbing someone, or whatever. The way I see it, only wana bee gangstas can relate.

I have never felt a single bit of emotion listening to 50's music, while at the same time there are artists that can bring plenty from a single song, the beatles def hold alot of emotion in their songs.

Imagine

Every generation has its heros. People aged 80 and older would probably tell you that the Beatles suck, that rock music sucks, and that Frank Sinatra is where it's at.

The story of music like so many other things in life is the story of the underdog. Somehow, somewhere down the road the haters and the critics are often forced to eat their words.

You fail to see that it doesn't matter how many people like a particular band or performer or which generation they come from.

The only criteria when judging art - whether it be music, film, painting or sculpture - is an artists body of work and their scope of their influence.

Everything else is just someone's opinion.

That's your opinion. Mine is that music can also be judged not by it's scope or influence, but by how good it sounds. Plain and simple.

Now in 2045 I HIGHLY doubt that 50 Cents name will still be big, and you know what, Im pretty sure "The Beatles" name will still be around. And you know what else, that shows just about how much you know about music, if you cant name one Beatles song. Im not even a big fan of the beatles and I can name a couple of them, The Beatles started something new, 50 Cent is just doing what all the other rappers did before him, just now its more publicized, and its nothing special and new AND finally the funniest part of what you said was "he couldnt give a damn whether we love him or hate him. Hes making millions, doing it better than anyone else is right now. Guess what, your favorite singer/band/rapper is doing it for the $$ its putting in their pocket, too" Thanks for letting me know about that, I never would have thought of it. :thumbsup :thumbsup

my response wasnt directed at you man, not everything in this thread is. I was posting for the people hating here. I dont know much about music because I wasnt around when the Beatles were out and the popular thing... SUE ME. for the most part, me and you are eye to eye on this, I was responding to the people in this thread hating..... :2 cents:

Jimmie 03-14-2005 04:33 AM

wasnt there a thread a few weeks ago about how fake Jay-Z was and he stole his lyrics from other people? Now he's the hottest thing since sliced bread.. :1orglaugh

I like Jay Z & 50... just funny to see who comes out of the woodworks when trash talking starts. :2 cents:

The 1790s. Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn. The Beatles haven't stood the test of time yet.

OG LennyT 03-14-2005 04:40 AM

comparing a legendary rock band like the Beatles to 'rap flavor of the month' is ridiculous IMO. I dont care how many records he sells.

I'm not talking about your opinion. I'm talking about music as being art that can be judged by a set of objective standards.

Those objective standards are body of work and influence.

In that case, I agree with you.

This was one of my points. The Beatles only get the attention they do because of the power of the baby boomers. Once they are dead then we will see how much impact the beatles actually had.

Ya never know, Tupac could end up having a musical influence equal to John Lee Hooker by that time.

sickkittens 03-14-2005 09:50 AM

Do record sales just mean number sold to stores or actually sold in the stores?

Stranger things have happened. Look at Jazz. It was huge at one time, now it's just influential old music. Once upon a time there was nothing bigger than Benny Goodman. Time will tell.
