Isn't Vodka, by definition, colorless?

A clear, colorless, unaged liquor originally made in Russia from potatoes. Today's vodka, which is almost odorless and tasteless, may be made from other ingredients such as corn, wheat or rye. Vodka is integral to many cocktails such as the Screwdriver, Bloody Mary and vodka Martini. If served straight, it should always be icy-cold. Flavored vodkas have become popular in the United States and may be flavored with anything from fruits to hot peppers. Some flavored vodkas are even sweetened slightly.

nothing like Russian/ Eastern european vodkas, they make some good stuff...

Stolichnaya has a great 'vodka' flavor, as in it's actually flavorful and not repulsive.
Grey Goose is so fucking smooth you might as well be drinking Evian.
Try cran and goose, it's really, really, ridiculously good.
I'm a pretentious bitch so exclusively drinking these two vodkas has ruined me for all other vodka.

you know, we could be dealing with some sophisticated webmasters who like vodka straight up when they have caviar.

highly doubful. but i guess its the "ballin" thing to do at a club and overpay to get crunk.

It's true that in terms of taste, and taste only, many won't be able to tell the difference between a cheap and a premium vodka. Unless they really know their stuff.

But the difference is still felt the next day. One example I can give from experience is a horrible headache I got the day after from only one smirnoff martini where I can drink stoli all night and wake up feeling just peachy.

definately. i've had bad trips with smirnoff compared to stoli or belvedere vodka. Belvedere has a more subtle taste, less alcohol feel and is smoother on the palette than smirnoff, which has a slight sting after-taste. But i havent touched smirnoff in awhile so maybe quality has changed?

its just that many ppl mentioned taste as their reason for the brands they chose :)

grey goose and belvedere are real good but also everyone should try Ciroc it's made from grapes MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

someone who drinks premium vodka alot can taste the difference

After one drink you can't point out any brand of vodka in a blind test.

Grey Goose or Stoli. Once you pop, you can't stop. (At least I can't)

if u did a taste challenge on 5 of the top premium vodka's, the majority of ppl would fail or even lucky to get 2 out of 5 right. :2 cents:
