Its gonna take me at least another week before a new batch comes out. I tried the 7100r (which everyone has tons of btw), and didn't like the keyboard at all. What a real piss off, I was anxious to play with it this weekend.

If they shaved an inch off of that Nokia it would be hot. The new Motorola is nice.

I'll stick to my Treo, at least until I drop it again.

Sorry to hear that, I know what a disappointment that can be :disgust

I'm glad they're not a real hit around here yet so I'm sure to get one when I go to the shop next week :thumbsup

it is nice but a bit bulky IMO, also VF is not carrying it yet (they're so slow with new phones)

The 7290's aren't that popular around here, its just that Rogers is pushing big time for the 7100r's since the profit margins on those are higher (at least thats what the rep told me).

I hate it when companies decide for you what you need to buy, can't you go to another store and get it there??? This just shows poor service from Rogers :2 cents:

your provider should take care of that, I'd suggest taking a look at a few major carriers' sites and see if they have any info up. :2 cents:

BTW I'm out for the night... thanks for all the suggestions and I will review the new posts tomorrow. Take care everyone :thumbsup

I think I have to stick to Rogers/Radio Shack since I'm getting hooked up on my wireless through Rogers carrier. If I switch carriers, I doubt I can keep the same phone number.

I'm not sure how it's organized over there but over here you can switch carriers and keep your cell number without a problem. Of course I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle for you anyway! Hope you get your BB soon :thumbsup

Yup, we called all of them in BC too. They'll have the 7280 (no bluetooth) and 7100 (i hate the keyboard) in stock for sure, but apparently the 7290 is sold out canada wide. If you do find it somewhere, let me know and i'll buy it.

no problem.

so i picked up a 7290 about an hour ago. i'm in love already :glugglug

it's totally going to rock when i start traveling the world this fall.

wiredguy fyi i asked the guy how many they had at the Whistler Rogers, and he had two, so now there is one in stock... you could maybe call them and have them ship it to you or something.

quiet 03-12-2005 09:27 PM

hmm, wtf i can't figure out how to reply to emails. i can write email from scratch no problem. but when i do a reply to one, there's no option to actually send it!! can someone with a 7290 explain this to me??

FrankWhite 03-12-2005 09:35 PM

i got 7520 from nextel and loving it.

Anthony 03-12-2005 10:28 PM

First day I got to use my 7100t. Spent 2 hours on it, calling, icq, and email. It is definately a life saver. Although it sucks never having a second to yourself, it is much better than lugging around a laptop with sat card on it.

Definately get the BB.

FrankWhite 03-12-2005 10:33 PM

and i love it.

quiet 03-12-2005 10:50 PM

fuck this is pissing me off. the send option simply doesn't appear when replying to a message. argh

Pornwolf 03-12-2005 11:09 PM

That's what you get. Shoulda stuck with the Treo.

What the hell? Damn. Do you have either the phone number of address of the Rogers store you got it from? I'll go back on Monday and make them send me one.

WG

quiet 03-13-2005 12:13 AM

number is 604 938 1909...

i still can't figure out this reply thing. now i'm at the point where sometimes replying will have the send option in the menu, and othertimes there is no send option. i can't see any rhyme or reason for it. argh. i love everything else about it, but damn is the random reply -> send option driving me crazy.

quiet 03-13-2005 12:17 AM

the email is sooo fast. as soon as i send one from my laptop, it's there maybe 2 seconds later max.

pradaboy 03-13-2005 09:30 AM

thanks for sharing your experiences quiet, what do you think of webbrowsing on the BB?

browsing seems quite good... though i've only really been surfing pda optimized sites so far. took about a minute for the regular version of gfy to load.

still having this reply to email problem - i'm going to the store today to talk to someone about it...

hope you get it solved, might be a rare software error or something. Thanks for the feedback, I'll probably go to the store somtime next week to see this puppy in action :thumbsup

pradaboy 03-13-2005 02:51 PM

hmmm just saw an ad from another carrier, they have a sweet offer for the Treo 650... maybe I should get them both lol :helpme

adonthenet 03-13-2005 03:01 PM

give it a try!

pradaboy 03-14-2005 09:39 AM

Well I went to my local Vodafone shop today... bit of a disappointment. As I could have expected the BB is totally Vodafonized, stuffing every piece of shitty service they offer in there. I'm really not sure if i should get it like that. Maybe I'll wait till some new phones arrive that suit my needs better. The Nokia Communicator 9300 caught my eye though because it's fairly small and very complete. I'm gonna look up some reviews on it and see if that might be worth my time.
