I need a couple logos, a couple interfaces, and a page layout designed. Which do you guys have better luck with contests or hiring a single designer? The contest gives more choices, but the single designer seems to have a more dedicated work.

Any feedback?

contest: more choices, higher $$$ (cuz its a contest, its gotta worth designer's free time to enter), good advertising for whatever it is you want the work for...

go with a contest, i've have one to many so called high-end designers produce crappy work. you'll get more choices in a contest

why not have a contest for 1 logo and make the prize cash for the logo, along with the winning designer getting hired to do the rest of the work that you need to have done. that way you get the best of both, variety to choose from and dedication on all the other projects.

If you don't mind spending at least $200 definately go with a contest. If you try a contest for anything less you will miss out on a lot of potentially great designs. Designers will not only submit more but they will also spend more time on them.
