l worked for a temp agency when l was a student and they sent me on lots of jobs that l was not qualified to do...the best one was sending me to a college to be an assistant engineer,for which l knew nothing at all about the subject.......and they actually kept me there for 6 months doing just odd jobs

You're (hopefuly) not dealing with morons. Your employer expects you to have some sort of a background, and that's it, the rest you learn on the job. If you're fast learner, hard working and honest, you'll fit perfectly. So, just put some effort, and you'll have nothing to worry about.
