My girl & I are moving to Maui next summer.

Was wondering how many of you would be interested in some kinda "Webmaster Bash On The Islands" kinda thing? I know.... I know.... it's only December. But I just kinda wanted to get a feel for who would be interested in such a thing, how many would come, and how it should be conducted if we did it....

Wanna have a kick back kinda thing? No shop talk allowed? Give me some suggestions here so we can start planning shit.... I would love for all of us to get together for somethin' like this.... no pressure... no attitudes.... just bring yer cabana shorts and sunblock... we'll find ya a surfboard.

Now if you were to take the party on a boat, maybe a large one big enough for a dinner cruise, that might be distracting enough to keep the shop talk to a dull roar

Now to find out who the "elite" are on the islands. After all, you don't want to invite newbies and lesser folk, right? Better charge $301 to get in, just to keep the event respectable. Okay I'm kidding. It sounds like a great idea man, I think you mentioned it to me quite a few months ago, no? It sounds really familiar anyway. I'm sure you did, maybe in ICQ or something. I think that is a very valid point that u made - I was at a party with a heap of webmasters last night and everybody was hanging in little clusters - he only way ppl started to talk to each other was that 'common ground'

but yes I think that it should be kept to a minimum!!

i also like the idea of not 'talking shop'. i would however, need a solid connection to the net (like someone already mentioned). this is priority #1, whenever we are looking to travel somewhere.
