My AMD overheats and freezes when I'm editing video. I need more COOLIN POWER!!!

webcrawler 03-09-2005 01:48 AM

Try using a Thermaltake Volcano cooling fan for your AMD.

New chips automatically shut down when they reach critical heat. But I don't know how you can push it to 75 degree C even editing videos.
So AMD processors can't get damaged or catch fire.

Get a decent fan like Zalman 7000Cu. It's quiet and effective.
Also get a decent thermal paste: Arctic Silver 5

It's probably your shitty RAM that freezes the system.

in home computer i have AMD Athlon 2,6 but in laptop Centrino and i think both are really good. Laptop is running on battery usually for about 7 hours. (It depend if i'm using cdrom :) )

If you have a good case and cpu cooler, go AMD. Better bang for the buck by far.

If you have a generic case (under $100 is usually a clue to being a cheap case) with no dual intake and dual exhaust fans you're looking for trouble with AMD. I should know, I had to change cases 3 times before shit stopped frying. I finally got an Antec SOHO server case. CPU hovers around 40c now and everything is stable.
