How Do I Sell A Domain?
To a company that i own theirname.com while they: a) own the trademark b) has unlimited legal funds it was definately registered in bad faith, generates next to no traffic, but heck..i want a few bucks out of it. They do not know I have it. Best plan of attack? Send a letter by mail? saying what? Email ?? How does one approach these touchy deals? |

				 | First, park it on Afternic: http://www.afternic.com/index.php?ref_id=32572 Then, send an anonymous email to them announcing that the domain is up for auction there, bid a few times on it yourself, and watch them play. |

from what i have read a lot of companies will fight all they can purely on principles. there is an anti-cybersquatting law in USA which allows companies to go after the cybersquatter ........ *gets worried* i was thinking maybe emailing them a "complaint letter" posing as a "customer" informing that their site..BLAH.COM was not working... perhaps sparking some interest to higher levels of management... any more ideas would be appreciated... i have a LOT of these domains in my scope.......... =) | |

In the end if they litigate they may well win. If they do threaten to sue you ask them what would be a means of stopping any and all litigation. You don't want to be the next www.nissan.com. LOL. Maybe after you get a website hooked up at the domain at the top of the page say this domain is for sale. Anyway, just my

				 | Register a trademark in your state for the same company name ;) Also, send out a few invoices with that business name on it, that way you can prove you have a legitimate interest in the domain if they do get to the lawsuit stage ;) You will also be able to contact them once you have the business name reistered in your state by telling them you are closing the business and that you want to liquidate the assets including the domain and how much do they wanna pay you for it We have done this several times as a company and trust me, it works REALLY well ;) Regards, Lee |

				 | Establish a legitimate website offering services completely unlike those of the trademarked company. Contact a broker. Have the middle man/ broker contact the company. keep your hands clean.
