2257 For Those Outside The US..

In order to sell in the U.S. market, foreign producers must comply with U.S. laws. This rule applies equally to any sexually explicit material introduced into the stream of commerce in the United States no matter where it was produced. Foreign producers have the option of not complying with the rule, but then their access to the U.S. market is justly and lawfully prohibited.
So if a foreigner does not comply does HE get banned from the US or the website?

I can see a problem with paysites vs billing processors in that.

Well I think American sponosrs will defiantley require Americans to be 2257 compliant, but I also find it hard to belevie they would have one set of rule for Americans and one for non-Americans. So in the end I think they'll require ALL affiliates to be 2257 compliant.

              - linktrades

I'd like someone to actually put forth a legal opinion on this one, because we're bantering it back and forth in the main discussion as well, and there's no clear resolution. My personal opinion is that you're right, they've put this in place as the groundwork to make it increasingly difficult to do porn biz in the US without being compliant, whether or not there are any sturdy sanctions they can directly apply to you, as a non-us producer, at the moment.

After reading new 2257, I can't really see how that could affect linktrades (which is mostly based on textlinking) or affect where you lead the customers and risks about that.
But remember 2251 still apply with or without 2257, which is mostly same in most western countries.

Why would a TGP take sposnor FHG from another webmaster when they could just use themselves?
