Quick PC question
Quick PC question my dad has a PII 400 PC. It has a scsi 9gb hard drive. Having problems with it, so I tries a 2gb hard drive from an old pc. This worked fine, so I got a new 80gb hard drive. Plugged it in, but the bias chip has not detected it. All leads are the same way around as the old 2gb drive. Also moved the jumper things to set to master. But still not detected. Any ideas. Never installed a master drive before, only as a slave.

1. Stop posting links and articles and rubbish all the time. 2. Read the label on the drive and try to set it up manually in bios.

It may sound strange to you, but try this: 1. Dismantle the HD 2. Put it in a bucket of boiling water 3. Keep overnight 4. Problem solved......

If it is an old PC, your computer won't recognise IDE drives which are larger than 2gb.
