Which is the best processor to use for a Paysite? I hear NetBilling is good? Any advice?

Ok -- my turn for some shameless self-promotion

WebsiteBilling.com is pretty darn good...

From a technical viewpoint, we have a very reliable and tested system. Rather than having multiple billing systems, we have one system which processes credit cards, online checks, and 1-900 charges -- greatly simplifying your account administration & setup.

Also, all our reports are generated in real-time... you won't experience any delay between the time a transaction occurs and the time it shows up in your reporting area -- it's immediate.

We offer toll-free 24 hour billing related customer service to your customers - at no extra charge to you.

Also, we're currently offering a reduced 90 day introductory rate for new clients... 11% transaction fee, 5% 6 month reserve.

If you have any questions -- just let me know -- I'm more than happy to help.

I'm applying for a merchant account and the bank is telling me that VISA charges a
$1000 high risk fee for merchant accounts
servicing adult subscription websites.

Can anone confirm this?

Thanks.

I found my own answer... thought others may want to know.

Visa charges an initial $1000 "high-risk " fee for adult SUBSCRIPTION websites for the first year. Additional years are billed at $300.

I've heard the same story from two banks.

Don't be confused between the fee and a reserve however. You are still going to pay rolling reserve no matter how you look at it.

The credit you have and the amount of money you have for initial reserve go a long way towards determining your final %.

Yeah FUCK NetBilling. As far as I'm concerned they're absolute whores. When I first got into the business I bought a large group of paysites and to make a long story short the management at NetBilling assisted the webmaster in defrauding me.

CCBill Rocks!! :-)

And, for any of you considering getting your own merchant account, forget about it! It isn't what you think. No matter what you do, I'd bet you can't even save 2 points below any third party biller's rates after 6 months.

Cheers

Brad
