Senator: Decency Rules Should Apply to Pay TV, Radio

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/ns/news/...&w=RTR&coview=

I love this line:

"I think we have the same power to deal with cable as over-the-air" broadcasters. There has to be some standard of decency," he said. But he also cautioned that "No one wants censorship."

what a moron, hypocrite, and fool.

the difference is...the over-the-air airwaves are owned by the public and free to recieve (which is why the FCC can propose fines, etc. for those stations) but cable is different since it's a premium service.

I'm so sick of these politicians that refuse to deal with real problems and issues like welfare reform, education reform, this little war we have going on in two countries, etc. instead of whether or not Little Johnny gets to see a glimpse of Janet Jackson's nipple or hear someone say "shit" on television...

there are more channels aimed at children and families now then ever before and everyone still bitches about content on television programs that don't even interest kids in the first place...
