...and strange. Prostitution in the UK is not illegal per se but any form of soliciting is as is 'living off immoral earnings' which can be as simple as collecting rent from a prostitute for a property she rents from you. I believe that in the UK it will eventually change but not for a while. However, much of the US is so screwed up by religious nutters I think it'll be a very, very long time before it happens there in too many states.

He can use one but not go kerb crawling for one or pick one up off the street. She can screw for money but not advertise in any way to get business. She's also in theory not allowed to rent anywhere to perform the deed - or rather the landlord can get prosecuted if she does.

It's why escorts are so big now I think. I presume the original service is purely that of an escort and nothing else. If on the date she offers to screw for money then it's (as far as I understand it) not as such against the law. If they then also go back to his house/hotel room it gets around the immoral earnings thing.

Crazy situation though. As has been said if you legalise at least you can regulate. It wouldn't perfect or catch it all but would be a lot better than it is at the moment.
