Linux Mandrake

Well I'm downloading it now... but seeing as I'm a complete newbie to this (I just had to try it), could anyone tell me how to install it please?

I'd like the option of Windows 98 or Linux Mandrake when the computer starts. Later today I'll put Mandrake onto a CD and format the computer. Then what should I do? Reinstall Windows 98, then Mandrake? Something else?

Aplogies for the stupid questions... hehe!

Well if you are using mandrake, it's about as easy as installing windows... As for the dual boot, it'll be installed automatically, you just have to configure it (the boot manager is called LILO, for Linux Loader I think). Be careful though, the first time I installed mandrake, the waiting time in LILO was set to 1 seconds, so linux was automatically loading after 1 seconds...Took me 2 days to figure out what was the problem LOL
Hope it helps you

Yup! that's true if you want to run a server...But if it's only for a workstation, Mandrake does the job..

I'm very thankful that SilverTab could spare more than two hours of his time to give some free tech support, share some info and help a guy out.

SilverTab: send me a link to your favorite sponsor and I'll give you some free ad space in a good spot for a month. My way of saying thanks.
