StrongBox and hacked server (Webair)

I had Pennywize installed. It began suspending 5-6 usernames per day, so I thought there was something wrong. ( Like it happenned once with them)

So I got StronBox installed. 100 usernames suspended since yesterday !

Many of them are members who just signed up.

Damn ! A lot of chargebacks coming up if I don't find a solution !

My server must have been hacked or something... I am with webair... Still no answer from them...

Has anyone of you ever experienced the same problem ?
How did you resolved it ?

ouch. password forums get thousands upon thousands of hits a day. I wouldn't be suprised if a couple of your sites made their way on to there.

Still no answer, did you try live support from their website? I can usually get shit resolved in minutes with them, that's WHY I am with them!

If your server was hacked, you would not get the StrongBox e-mails. What e-mails are you getting from SB? It says in the e-mails what's going on. For example, if it's 100 different e-mails with different usernames, it could be a dictionary type attack. Hit Ray up and ask him to look at your reports, he can tell you what's going on. We get hundreds a week, but only a very very few Members have had any problems, and I think to date we have only had less than 10 people suspended by accident.

Pennywize was fucking up for me but it was because I set the parameters too low. I now have it set to a 7 subnet threshhold and I also have a download limit set that nobody could possibly hit unless more than one person was in the members area. I then put the time to block an account to 10,000,000 seconds and voila! No more problems. It runs like clockwork and I've only had to block two accounts in the past two months.

Pennywize just sucks that bad.. When I changed over to strongbox I found we had a huge amount of leaks that Pennywize never saw. Once I changed the pw and told the members, took about 3 weeks to clean up all the leaks.

You didn't get hacked the pw's are from brute force attacks which pennywize only halfass blocks.
