    Wanna know who's who? Check Alexa

    I know that everybody doesn't use alexa tool bars but everybody doesn't have a Neilsen box on their television either. The thing seems to be pretty accurate.

    Checking it out, I was wrong about a LOT of sites that I thought got big traffic and I was surprised at the ones who were getting it.

    And I didn't just check traffic rank. I also checked the "Reach Per Million" stat and for a lot of folks it ain't looking that pretty.

      Alexa is a seriously fucked up application.

      We have sites that push millions of hits a week with shitty ranks. We also have sites that push less than 100 hits a week that have superb rankings LOL

      It all comes out in the wash ultimately but you should never take their figures as gospel

                  It doesn't mean shit. Some people send traffic to just one domain instread of multiple, therefore having a higher ranking

                      yea..agree with everyone about it.
                      Lets say you have a lot of hosted galeries in the domain of the paysite, so you ranking will be high, but some sites with much more traffic , but with no hosted galeries on the domain, have small rank.

                                  Yeah you're right about that. But I'm talking about SINGLE sites. And I know that the traffic ranking is kind of skewed but look at the Reach Per Million. Some people have lower traffic rankings than me but their reach per million is higher.

                                          That one - for me anyway - was worse than Alexa... it gave hardly more than 70% of the uniques one of my sites has had today as the total for the past 30 days.

                                                          It take to alexa some time to account the info regarding new sites but if you check on old sites it does rate the traffic and account really close to real information.
