Who has a problem with the way that NATS codes are output?

Who has a problem with the way that NATS codes are output?

I am trying to collect some information. Who would like to send traffic a NATS program (sites like Rabbit?s Reviews is a good example), but because of the complex output of the NATS coding:

http://secure.18interracial.com/track/NTY2OjQ6NA/

I know, because the is no static variable to replace to credit an affiliate that these longer code strings become a problem, therefore NATS programs can?t be promoted via their services.

I know that there are a few different traffic sources that we have not been able to do business with, whom we would like to. We believe we have a workaround for this problem and are the only NATS program that currently offers this.

Actually, you can use the strack code with the affiliate code for any of your sites to generate the proper tour for the site you want to link...

http://secure.18interracial.com/strack/NTY2OjQ6NA/1/0/1

You'll have to supply site ID numbers for all your sites, but other than that it will work.

The first 1 is site id 1, the 0 means "do not switch program" (if the affiliate code is for a 60% revshare program it'll stay that way), and the last 1 means "yes, track this in stats".

Providing any nats code from any of your program's linkcodes will work there.

...provided "strack" is there, secure.18interracial.com doesn't seem to have it, but the installations I've done do.

I think xxxjay is talking about something else, passing the webmaster id through other sites or some crap..

Strackcodes are not allowed by all nats programs.

I know, and this is a solution that would work. It would take more work on the behalf of the site displaying the links, but the webmaster would only have to provide one nats code when they signed up.

Why not? It's a great feature...

It looks like there is some confusion...say, you are sending traffic to a site review site that has an affiliate program that you would get credit for. The NATS codes have no constant variable that can be replaced to cridit someone, the other webmaster must add and match everything by hand. Most will not do this for every affiliate.

What I was hopeing to do is get a list of sites / programs that are experiencing this problem.

Just wanted to tell everyone, the newest version of NATS has unencoded link codes!

The version we are currently installing has the feature partly disabled until we are 100% sure nothing is lost when using it, once its all tested every NATS program will have a "Unencoded Links" system on top of the encoded links system. Each reseller will be able to use either one of them, totally up to them.

Also, our customers will be happy to know that this change will NOT require any change in their tours or the like!

The new link codes will look something like this:

http://secure.18interracial.com/trac...frevshare:18I/
for the default cascade or
http://secure.18interracial.com/trac...share:18I:619/
for a non-default cascade. The one with id 619 in this case.

Comments on these are welcome, now we can still change them if someone thinks we should do it differently.

Just one thought, using a colon as a separator may cause some problems with braindead browsers. Remember you can form a URL like this:

http://www.somedomain.com:8080/somedir/somefile.html

Like I said, braindead browsers, might only be 0.1% of the net population for all I know.

Actually the logic is quite straight forward in URLs, and nothing says a path may not include : characters. But I understand where you are coming from. We might change it to ; or , before we release it.
