Are you into F1 racing? What's your favourite team?

I love F1. Even though it's not as exiting as it used to be.

The team I'm cheering for is Minardi. Mainly because my best friend is the big boss's son. And they have a Dutch driver, which is always good!

I guess most ppl prefer Ferrari though..

It totally fucking sucks. Impossible to see any skill for all the technology used - no racing anymore. Don't even think last season was that bad in comparison the the early 2000's. One year the lead changed hands due to overtaking a whopping 4 times (in 20 fucking races!).

And I used to think it was pretty damn good

wow..that must be awesome in terms of seat freebies :]
too bad minardi is awful..but i admire their perseverance. I heard this years new minardi is supposed to have a pretty radical new look..still, they will be fighting with jordan at best..Infact they may not even be racing the first few races since they dont have an 05 car yet and they havent done changes to the 04 car to meet the new regulations. Minardi was hoping to be alowed to run their old car but not all the teams have agreed to that yet.

I'm a huge f1 fan..been following testing during the winter months months..expect mclaren and renault to come out VERY strong..even ahead of ferrari for the first few races (ferrari will be running their 2004 car for the 1st 4 races, and it seems other teams have been quicker..but that will likely change when ferrari puts out their 05). Its gonna be an exciting first few races at the very least.

I have been following F1 for almost 40 years but it has been habit for maybe half that time, it is so rare to see any real racing any more. The last few seasons, with a lot of races being won in the pits instead of on the track, have been worst of all.

I saw a promo piece the other day claiming the present Mini Cooper is quicker than F1 cars were when the first Mini was produced. The cars were certainly slower back then, but because they were more evenly matched the racing was much more exciting.

A lot of people forget that apart from a championship back in the early 50's, Ferrari didn't do too well in F1 until 1975 (Niki Lauda). The next few years were good for them then there was a lull until the mid-1990's when Michael Schumacher moved from Benetton. Considering the hero-worship surrounding Schumacher, it is ironic that Enzo Ferrari once said that drivers didn't matter, if he built the right car, any competent driver could win.

Lotus was probably the team I enjoyed watching most...
