One more suggestion. If you do cross over the GGate than you wouldnt be far from Muir Woods where you can check out those monster redwoods.

alcatraz!!! :)

One of the cutest places I've ever been in was just north of SF on 101, Stinson Beach.
The city itself is very small, but what's good there is the sea food. Sun was shining, perfect view over the ocean and a huge plate of Oysters. Life couldn't get much better :)

I don't know about Oysters now, but it's definitely worth going there to have good sea food with a view.

If you like garlic, you should go to Stinking Rose. You will STINK for couple of days after though :winkwink:

Sean 02-22-2005 02:34 PM

yeah, I really want to do that too...my mom grew up in a small town on the east coast called Muir and they always credit the same Muir as having an influence on their town name..who knows how true that is

There is a place in London that is one of my regular haunts called ' Garlic and Shots' which is a similar idea but for metal types. I was thinking of going to Stinking Rose but not sure that is a great thing to do when you are a guest in someone's home..lol

Meloman 02-22-2005 02:43 PM

I think everyone has pretty much mentioned all the cool stuff to do.

You're going to have a blast. San Francisco rocks!

We need to have some big webmaster events out here :thumbsup

nofx 02-22-2005 02:45 PM

hehe, be sure to bring them so you can stink equally or they will kick you out :winkwink:

If you like Mexican food, there's a great place at Haight-Ashbury. It's on a corner and I can't remember what it's called :winkwink:

Thanks for asking. I've been so busy working and been dealing with the flu and then bronchitis, that I hadn't been keeping up...David Byrne is playing at the Fillmore tomorrow night...cool.

Hey Meloman,

I think you were part of the last get together setup on GFY. You had the passes for Larry Flynt's right?

See the gays, the bridge, and the island. That should cover it.

Is 1015 Folsom still around?

I remember the crazy ass line outside that place. But they had awsome DJ's there.

It isn't the same place it used to be... to much heat on the "E" going down there, but it still cranks on the weekend.

Check out the Ruby Skye web site, it puts porn sites to shame

Hang out in the Haight, visit the SF MOMA and take a walk through the Castro just so you can say you did.

Hon, I think I will be doing more than just a quick walk through the Castro...need to soak up that vibe a bit, I think...or atleast from what I have been told by friend that have gone.

Top 3 things to do.

1. MUIR WOODS. So peaceful. Also, go to nearby Muir Beach. The Pelican Inn is a quaint place to eat, the only restaurant there.

2. CLEMENT STREET restaurants. If you like asian, there are zillions of great cheap restaurants, and even asian markets with unbelievable selections of produce and other foods. We got huge bowls of noodles for like $6. Eat like a King for pennies!

3. THE MANSIONS. Stay in a Victorian B&B for the high ceiling, the wood trim, the fireplaces and the romance. The Archbishop Mansion is one good one.

reynold 02-23-2005 11:33 PM

I always like to see the Alcatraz.

BIGTYMER 02-23-2005 11:56 PM

Visit The Rock.

Love Brokers 02-24-2005 12:00 AM

Ya better make a reservation to go out to Alacatraz! Day's before ya get there.
