CHILD support agencies last night condemned a sheriff?s decision to allow the deputy rector of a secondary school to escape a prison sentence after he downloaded thousands of indecent images of children on his home computer.
William Fraser, 53, the deputy head teacher at Portlethen Academy in Aberdeenshire, was arrested last summer as part of a worldwide crackdown on internet c*****d pornography.
He was found to have downloaded 1,400 indecent photographs of children between May 1999 and June 2004 and was in possession of another 1,810 indecent photographs of children on CD-Roms which he had bought through the internet.
The images involved children as young as five and some of the pictures featured children engaged in sexual acts with other children and adults.
