Heard a freaky story yesterday

6 people were on a small yacht in the Pacific. They decided to go for a midnight swim and jumped into the ocean. Somebody forgot to take the ladder down. The boat was found floating empty the next day...

that would really suck

Not sure of the details. they probably had to piece things together i.e. found clothes changed, suits gone perhaps, towels on the deck, etc.

Stupid mistake, shame to have a nice boat like that next to you and not be able to get in it

That is spooky as hell... Hey! Anyone out there also a fan of Dead Calm? Great flick with Nicole Kidman, etc. I guess we can look to see this story on Unsolved Mysteries or something...

A yacht big enought that you couldn't climb back aboard would have a dive ramp at the back.

C'mon peiople, be a little suspicious!

My buddy's boat is of the larger variety, and I know for a fact that without a ladder, you would not be able to get back into it ...

next time you are swimming in the deep end of a pool, try to jump 3 feet out of the water ... doesn't sound like much, but if you are able to do it, I will sell your fucking ass to Marineland !!!

That's gotta bullshit. At least ONE of them would be able to get back in! Something's fishy (no pun intended) about that story...

Not necessarily. I'm not saying this story is true because too many damn rumors, conspiracy theories and urban legends get passed on through the net...however...3 years ago while jet skiing with my cousins I wiped out on too many times...and after attempting to crawl back on the jet ski I began to dehydrate.
The water was choppy and even though I was wearing a life jacket and am an excellent swimmer I began to swallow a lot of water. The dehydration hit me rather quickly and the constant waves hitting me in the face etc I became exhausted rather quickly...to make a long story short I soon started to realize how adults who are good swimmers drown every day in a laker or ocean...I abandaoned the jet ski and just floated on my back to the nearest piece of lande which was shore line that was covered in huge boulders etc. I figured I might be able to walk back to where we launched the jet skis but the terrain wasn't hospitable at all.
My cousins had to call the park rangers and I had to be picked up and taken to the hospital and given fluids intravenously for the next couple of hours.

Not a fun experience

I think it's possible the may have drowned without a ladder down... perhaps the waters were rough. Here's a picture of my brother's yacht... Imagine swimming and trying to get back on if the waves got big.

Looking forward to throwing a party on it next there's a convention in Miami!! lol

nice boat...but it looks like it has a ridge in the back that you can boost yourself up on or at least hold on to. In the ocean, you would tire easily just keeping afloat, let alone trying to find a way to boost yourself up into a boat in the dark...i dont like the idea of drowning

What kind of idiot boat captain allows everyone on the boat to get in the water at the same time (including himself) without putting down a ladder? It just isn't done.

SinEmpire - Brad, Schweet boat! Count me in for the next Miami get together.

About these fools that went swimming...ladder or not, they probably got hypothermia before they even realized they were ladder-less. Poor fools...that's an aweful way to go...

I would assume they would have passed a law saying some boats NEED a permanent ladder on them just in case..

if they don't have that already, they should do it..

it's just stupid.

Well I can say that on that 110 foot boat there's a full time crew of like 3 people so it's not likely everyone could dissapear into the water. I keep having flashbacks of Dead Calm, I still think that's spooky an empty boat floating out at sea!!

Let's look for a SinTalk party on the Love Boat in '02 :-)

Cheers

Brad

P.S. - Hey Amber, if Hustler wants SinTalk Phone Sex lines I could probably arrange a cool weekend excursion ;-) muhahah
