50.,..,...

BradM 04-22-2005 02:51 PM

I did it. Best decision I ever made on so many levels.

mahoney 04-22-2005 02:52 PM

Yes, I always think about faking my own death and then killing myself.
Ironic isn't it :winkwink: Kidding

[CG] 04-22-2005 02:54 PM

The thing in your post is that you said 'vanish'.

Id thought of moving away, mind you the places Ive been to always seem to make me like montreal better when I get back.

Bu to up and 'vanish'. Not talk to parent, friends.. you would have to be really strong to do that. Just moving far away I think is strong but to never look back etc.. I think that would be too hard, kinda cold too no?

polish_aristocrat 09-08-2006 04:12 AM

yeah I guess it could be a good thing to do

Not so much the vanish part - but yea, done the move and it was in many ways, a new life.

Sold off some business stuff and we all shipped out and travelled round the Caribbean and stayed on one island or another for a few years and settled in Latin America (the better part).

Above all else, the "freedom" hits you in the face. No more "having to do this or that", no more taxes or forms to fill in - totally different world and far more laid back.

Move back to "civilized world"? No way!! :winkwink: Still never met one expat who would want to return home (apart from visting family etc).

nico-t 09-08-2006 06:41 AM

yea think about that from time to time...

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-08-2006 06:49 AM

no, i don't have the heart to leave my family, they mean everything to me, and i have 2 of my 3 nephews who look up to me, and just go from being in a bad mood, to good mood when they see me, it would kill them if i just up and left without without notice....

thricer 09-08-2006 06:51 AM

yes, I thought about it

sex69 09-08-2006 07:06 AM

I would not leave my family.

divinity 09-08-2006 12:39 PM

an old thread bumped at an appropriate time. I'm getting ready to do the whole "start over" again. It seems to be a pattern for me, as I've bounced around many states in the last 9 years. Moved once with my family, moved for school, moved for a girl, moved for a job, and now this move is for me. Two more months and I'm California bound. I won't be vanishing, but those friends that don't have the motivation to keep in contact will fade away.

Dragar 09-08-2006 01:00 PM

i bumped this thread because I like it, not because you started it

if I was looking for your attention, I'd bump one of your stupid "FACT" threads or the thread where you called out JimTheFiend and got owned by him, from 3 years ago

Actually some family member offered me help today with getting a job that would suit my education.

I always decline such proposals and tell people that "ehhh... I am earning some money on the internet." But I have to admit I'd like to try a new career path somewhere in my life. Not because of the money, rather just to get a new experience. Working in an office with other people, having projects, deadlines etc, must be totally different than waking up at 1 pm, ordering a pizza and opening GFY.

DarkJedi, you claim to have a lawyer education - wouldn't a part of you want to try out how it is to be a lawyer, rather than adult webmaster / GFY troll?

But you probably won't reply seriously anyway...

needlive 01-06-2007 03:35 PM

Don't look back. Maybe it's the best advice...But who could do it? Leaving everything behind without looking back?...

~zombiegirl~ 01-06-2007 04:38 PM

NO FUCKING WAY!!! I love my life & the people in it too much.

E$_manager 01-06-2007 05:59 PM

Sometimes i do.

E$_manager 01-06-2007 06:02 PM

But then i think that i am not alone and i have someone who cares about me and stop thinking bullshit. :)

RawAlex 01-06-2007 07:44 PM

I have done it a couple of times in my life, and it is very liberating. It can be a challenge. It is even harder to drop out of sight while staying in the same area (and that can be done too!).

Big_Red 01-06-2007 07:47 PM

Now you got me thinking..... :ugone2far

Dagwolf 01-06-2007 09:03 PM

It's been a long time since I had the slightest urge to do anything like that.. My family is what I live for; if I ever did anything like that I'd be taking them with me.

Sveindt Beindt 01-06-2007 09:07 PM

Yes and then i end here and its reel funny to make porno :thumbsup

madawgz 01-06-2007 09:20 PM

sure why not, that would be fun :P

DateDoc 01-06-2007 09:24 PM

Been there done that always kept in touch with the parents though.

Z 01-06-2007 09:29 PM

Ya man...no doubt.

Good point :thumbsup

I did it when I was 21, moved to the other side of the country with about $1000. Like other here, best decision ever.
