I don't agree, but I don't promote a whole lot of per sign up. And we relatively few affiliates that push us that way. The bulk of our business is rev share. But it's one way to gauge the confidence of a rev share in it's abilities to retain. If they are willing to go into the red a little bit on PPS, I always feel like i'll do better with them long term if I do rev share.
Most programs make a decent amoutn of extra money through cross sells, upsells and members area ads... so it was just surprising to see that you're able to make it work on a 50-65% rev share and a pps that works out to 83% of initial.
I know different sites, different traffic, different types of affiliates... what works for one program doesn't necessarily mean it will work for another. But if your rev share is that great... why wouldn't you want to offer the webmaster a little more on per sign up ... and get them to take that... and keep more of the money for yourself long term ? unless of course the rebill rate isn't that great and you just can't afford to do it
