GFY took the site down

Due to an enormous interest for .in domains
the registry can´t follow up on the request for domains.
We are doing our best to registrer all the domains manually.
Because of that workload we have to close down the site.
Our site will be offline until tomorrow.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Uhh ohh... they are doing this shit by hand! You know what that means? That means a lot of us will be getting refunds because they took multiple orders for the same domains.

This should be interesting.

I still remember wanting to register fuck.com in '98 or so. NetSol denied it as obscene and then a few years later just before their monopoly was crushed, they registered it themselves

I oughta sue them

Honestly, I'm kinda glad I didn't register any good domains back then. I would have sold them for a pittance later on and be kicking my butt now. I didn't realize the value of good domains.

I doubt it. As soon as I registered a domain and received an email confirmation, it was not available for registration a minute later. They actually have a nice order-entry system. What happens behind the scenes is a different story, but I don't think it will be a reason for duplicates and other similar issues.

I wasn't to fond of cctld's either, or even non-com's for that matter for quite some time. Recently however, I acquired a .CA domain. It receives 3000-3500 visitors daily. That made me a believer in cctlds. All in all, I think I've learned revenue/residual income is the bottom line. It's integral, it should be one of your sole motivators. Meaning if I have to choose between Down.com at $5 daily revenue, and smegma.us making $75 daily from ppc, I'm going to have to go with the ladder. Sure for vanity (and resale) purposes I'd love all my revenue generating domains to be extraordinary one-two word popular com's . But it's just not viable to sit, dick in hand, awaiting the next "premium dot com" acquisition. Acquiring one domain at a time, each month. Meanwhile you could simultaneously do that, alongside retrieving typos, TM's, typo/tm cctlds, drop game, end user resale, flips, monthly lease/skim ppc profit off top, etc. So, don't limit yourself too much PA. It seems like you're all too fond of the high end acquisitions, but they don't come around as often as we would all like. Even when they do? You've 12 chuckleheads bidding against one another.

Not preaching, just giving my input on the matter.

I think .in is a great extension, has some great implications. If you get a good word to go before the .in then it could be great like living.in staying.in anything where you are using the "in" as a word
