thats what happens when trucks hit you while you're on your bike :) was almost 2 years ago and i still cant walk right |
Don't get more than you can handle if you weight 130-150 start with a 600, 145-160 a 700; and 155-180 a 750; you'll get bored of the power fast once you get used to it, and always go honda or yamahaa as a first bike, don't wate your money until you trade up.

where is the best place to buy used bikes? after reading about dropping them i dont think im going to get a used one even though they are only like $7k. i was looking on ebay locally and they are going for almost msrp.

look in the newspaper or at cycletrader.com
its hard to sell a bike in the winter so right now its a buyer's market but that will change in a couple weeks |

If money is no problem, go with this beauty:
K1200S It is better than any japanese motorbike in all categories. (more power, more comfortable, high product quality, better image, a lot of high tech esp. a great chassis, while you are driving you can push a button and the chassis adjust from sport to comfortable) http://www.hobi.ch/bmw/k1200s_k4/gelb1.jpg http://www.motorrijder.be/extra/BMW/K1200S/K1200S3.jpg I am driving this one :pimp http://www.bmwofsaltlake.com/store/m...ureLuggage.jpg |
Here is my bike
Honda VTX-1300c http://www.mid-citieshonda.com/asset.../VTX1300Cl.jpg As soon as spring time rolls around I am trading it in for something faster. I am used to driving sport bikes and thought I would dig riding a cruiser with a big engine... I was wrong :( Yamaha R1 is in the cards for me I think :) DH |

If you are planning to REALLY ride a bike (not just show at your local bar with it) don't go for a sport bike.
Anyways people with sports bikes don't ride, too hard on the body. With this said, i got my first "sport bike" so to speak (always had custom bikes) it's a Honda VFR800, what i liked about it is the fact that i can add luggage if i need it 's a bit less hard on the body. The most i did on a single day with this kind of bike is 825km. I went to see this http://www.confederationbridge.com/b...id=150&lang=en Also, if you are planning to take out the girlie, you won't ride a lot too ! Solution ? buy 2 bikes hehehehehe Custom for long rides, vacation and riding with the girlie Sport's bike to try to loose your license :1orglaugh |
If you have never rode before i would advise against spending alot on your first bike, since you are going to drop it while your learning
|
DAMN RIGHT
It happens and WILL HAPPEN Hell you feel like a pile of shit when you are waiting at a red light or whatever and you drop it :1orglaugh Trust me ! Last time it happened to me, the bike was brand new and had no crash bar or any shit to help me in cas it happens 350$ of damage (mirror, windsheild etc..) Oh yeah 50 motorbikes |

Harleys have alot of parts manufactured overseas. The forks are made by showa, which is a company owned by Honda. Ironic, isnt it? The Honda VTX, GoldWing, 1100 Shadow and a few other bikes over 750cc's are made in Marysville, Ohio by americans. The parts for these bikes are made by nearby manufacturers. Honda created alot of jobs when they built thier plant here 25 years ago, and other companies sprung up to meet he demand for the parts that Honda needed. Die-hard Harley guys hate to hear this kind of shit though. But the fact is, Honda makes a damn good machine. |

This is how it looked in December: http://www.mrpheer.com/naked.jpg I put a fat 240mm rear tire and wheel on it http://www.mrpheer.com/pheerbike/sexy4.jpg I did all the work myself over the past 3 months. Just finished it this morning, too bad the weather here looks like rain all weekend. And you guys that wanna give me shit cause its not a Harley, here is a clue: If I wanted a Harley, I would have bought one. |
1st = Suzuki Hayabusa 1300, the best !
