Do I Really Need an Accountant?

Ok so I became a sole proprietership toward the end of this year after talking to an accountant about my business. How hard is it for me really at this point to file myself? Theres software and tons of resources to help me and the only things i have to look at are what i spent for my business and how much i made, correct? I don't have a car and i just have one room so itd just be a pain trying to get rent written off. the cable bills under my name and i can just pull up my bank spending online so thats easy too

So to sum it all up you people that have been doin this for awhile do i really need to go pay an accountant for my first and most simple year as a business?

i went to an accountant this year, and he told me that it would just be easier (and cheaper) for me to do them myself. get turbotax & file yourself, or go to an H&R Block (they'll go through your taxes & etc for free, and if you decide to file then you pay them, if not, just get up and walk out.)

Turbo tax Premier has all the forms you need to file your return...whether you have to pay or get a refund makes no difference. It is a software that enables you to quickly itemize your business expenses and use the correct forms to do so. All you do is input the info and it does the rest.
