Somebody Please Help Me Understand This!

Ok, here's the deal. I have a few movie archive sites and when I truly updated the site last was on 2/4/05 and sales came in strong for a few days up to 2/7/05. After that date they basically died off and today I put on the site that it was just updated on 2/15/05 which is today. Sales start coming in better now after I made that change.

Is it just that surfers only want to signup more when they see it has been recently updated or do you think changing the updated date from 2/4/05 to 2/15/05 doesn't really have any impact at all on getting new sales?

Do you recommend that I delete all dates from the site as to when things are updated and just put on the site that new movies have just been added yesterday or today or just say new movies just added and leave it at that?

What are everyones thoughts

Thanks.

Input dates/timestamps as meta tags. Who wants outdated content?

Do you guys put dates on when you update your movie archive sites or just say newly updated and leave the dates off? It seems like the sales increase when I put the date content was updated and it was a recent date like yesterday or the day before. If I eliminate dates and just say JUST UPDATED TODAY will that piss surfers off or should they be given a date when it was updated?
