Vitamins, Herbs and Natural Supplements - Canadian Law - GoFuckYourself.com

I received a question the other day about the sale of vitamins, herbal products and natural supplements in Canada. Generally speaking, these products are classified as natural health products or "NHPs" under the Canadian Food and Drug Act (FDA). The FDA regulates the distribution and sale of NHPs in Canada, and specifies certain licensing, packaging and labeling requirements. Depending on the circumstances, it may be better to use a U.S. or a Canadian corporation to sell the products in Canada.

Also, as some of you may recall from the adult webmasters legal seminar in Toronto last year, Canada has laws governing the sale of goods over the Internet. This means that anyone selling NHPs online to Canadians must ensure that their e-commerce websites comply with Canadian Internet sales law.
