My hausband never missed buying me a present for every Valentine's, Anniversary, birthday, Christmas, etc., he loves shopping for me all the time, but to me it's not special anymore, I'd rather have a romantic dinner with him today (at home) or go somewhere special (like beach or quiet park) and just spend time with him without buying any presents. Valentine's day is about loving each other, about the feeling you share, not a gift.
