on Adwords, yes, they dont dont allow that. They even dont allow sites with a "clean" dialer payment option on the join page.

Dialers or any sites with popups/prompts are not allowed on google adwords.
They do however allow it for second page clicks , just not the entry page.

Modem/Phone billing was always popular amongst the US surfers, just never gained enough momentum in the webmaster community :2 cents:

I'm speaking from my experience and giving my observation based on MY results.
I've had an mtree account since the early days, when the previous dialer was still up and running. I'm unbiased when it comes to making money, so take it for what it is.

If you're doing good with mtree, well good for you :thumbsup

Do you think having dialers on sites discourages or not wanted by affiliates or does it not matter?

Rorschach 02-14-2005 11:24 PM

redirecting foreign traffic straight to a third party dialer and not crediting the webmaster certainly sucks... i don't think anyone would object to a dialer option on the join page though.

Dialers rocks!! If you dont know, try it for a week and then you will see cash...

Funny thread! :)

We were doing "dialers" before that term got spread across the net and also remember dealing with what is now NCC when they were thinking about entering the dialer biz.

Dialers made one hell of a lot of money in earlier years and even I made a good few million out of them at that time. Another friend made loads more.. around $12m in 12 months, tho a large proportion of that was from audiotext lines - phone sex for those with nada clue :-)

Since then, scammers, con artists, wannabee dialer dealers, fraudulent phone/audiotext companies and who knows what other scum ripped the public off to a degree that forced government regulatory bodies to impose restrictions for consumer protection. In the process, this screwed the dialer market and the main phone companies developed an anti.

The same scammers and con artists also ripped loads of webmasters off and never paid.

If any "dialer dealer" comes up with a product and wants to deal - I'd want to know who the fuck he or she is, where they bank, and what credibility they have - then check the dialer for a load of viruses and bullshit :-)

Exactly, i'm tempted to say that the dialer's market is one of the most volatile (sp) ones in this industry...seriously

So many people (webmasters & surfers) got burned by this...

Simple question...
Why bill with dialers in places like Germany, where Direct debit is the main payment option? With Direct Debit you can have recurring billing.

We have been offering a dialer program for years. Visit www.activenet.com and signup. Not only do we offer dialers, we also have SMS billing included in the program. There is always a % of your surfers that will not take out a Credit Card and offering these surfers either a dialer or SMS billing option is a smart choice.
