You'll wait a couple of months at the most. Don't believe the hype.....if you want one you can get one.

                                                                                                                                              I hear the 2007 M3 is only coming with SMG...there will be no stick. The SMG is getting very quick, human error will all but be eliminated in the SMG III and they are fixing alot of the power problems.

If you are man under 24 it's a decent starter car. I had a convertable 3 when I was 21. But if you are in your mid 20's and you are still driving one you need to do some hard thinking about what kind of metrosexual you have become.
