You can buy as much with the green and it costs less. Its a marketing gimick for people that need to feel special. My brother is a sales manager for a drug company he is on the road 4 days a week. He runs up $25,000 a month on amex green never has a problem. Its more based on spending patterns then the color of the card.

We have the gold cards for business , we can pretty much buy what we need after 4 yrs of solid history with em.
