Bah, i quoted the wrong post when i replied. I was talking about the vette on this page:

Just take a look at some things that are wrong with the figures on that page. It says it's got 802 horsepower and completes the quarter mile in 8.95 seconds @ 153 mph. Using basic formulas that don't even take into account obvious variables like traction, friction and wind resistance, you'd need over 900 hp to achieve those results. Add in those other variables and you're going to need even more. |

I had a 1983 3.6 Porsche Turbo that had the engine blueprinted and had a second turbo added, the old 3 speed taken out and a 959... 6 speed wacked in.
0-60 mph was 3.2 seconds and it topped out at 257 mph certified by Porsche UK. I got stopped twice doing 120 in a 30 limit and let off ( cops are not assholes like their U.S. counterpart ) they could see the roads where clear and it was early on a Sunday morning. The second time i was stopped the cops asked me if they could take a ride, so i let one in the kiddy set in the back ( tight fit ) and one sat next to me, it was like having a get out of jail card. We drove to the M3 and they said lets see what she can do. At 215 mph they both turned white and asked me to slow down. That was the fastest i have ever driven a car in my life, but fuck it felt firm and very safe. Had to sell it when i came to the USA as the smog stuff would have cost a small fortune to fit, but i will always remember that car , i doubt i will ever get another one the freeways are just too blocked to justify the cost. |
