Eh, its hard to promote them when you cant see how much traffic you're sending and how it is converting.

For those that dont know, they use raw epoch stats and you cant see hits/uniques or conversions. Just sales.

From my experience, it seems they generate so much internal traffic, that they dont need affiliates. Hence, they dont put any priority into their affiliate program.

Yeah you are proably right, but it doesn't take that much work to add a decent affilate script they are leaving money on the table

Affiliates could actually dilute their traffic sources and cause them to generate less income from internal methods, decreasing profit but increasing sales.

not really, real affiliates do not need tracking of their hits, they know the value of their traffic. If you make 5 sales per submitted gallery for example, who cares about clicks. If you make 10 sales on a SE site where all different sponsors make you 6 sales, who cares about clicks.

i've noticed that with epoch stats on another affiliate program. the reason i'd like to know how many hits get there is to make sure i'm doing things right.

Wrong. Where do you think his internal traffic comes from? I used to promote BOB bigtime and thou I still promote but hardly. Yes, his traffic tracking sucks big time. It's just php affiliate code carry on from page to page, no cookie is set and no ip matching for cookie disabled browsers so suppose surfer goes to join page and then just removes the page name including affiliate id to see what's on his root domain then gets back to join page and join and now that's becoming his internal traffic and you are not getting credit for that signup. Now, surfer visits his site then goes back to touring other sites 5 minutes later/an hour later/2 days later/1 week later/3 month later whatever types in blacksonblondes.com to get back to his site and now that traffic is his internal traffic and you don't get credit for that signup. I think almost 50% of tgp traffic don't join a site 1st time they visit they like to explore options before they pull out the CC so you lose about 50% of signups if you are pushing with tgp traffic unless some of them bookmarked bob with your code inserted in url.

That being said BOB used to convert really well once upon a time so promoting even when losing upto 50% signups (not very happily ofcourse.. shrug) was worth it. Now, the conversion is not so hot thou rebills are real good. I promoted BOB on hun for years but stopped couple years ago when BOB got cold for me but ofcourse that could've been just me so try and see for yourself maybe.

That's the main reason, I don't send them any traffic. I need to verify and reconcile stats. Going a couple months without sales, just to realize that a link might not be structured correctly or working does not quite cut it.

If I can't get traffic stats from a sponsor, it's too risky to send the traffic.

Can they not afford the tech or the bandwidth?

That's why I dropped them, their epoch stats with no clicks, ref. urls, are BS ...
