Any domain is worth ANY AMOUNT if there is a buyer and/or market for it. So sure, obviously it was worth it to someone

a domain is worth what a client will pay for it. it can be worth $5 to someone. or $100,000 to someone else.

true, but if you owned it would you have sold it for $50,000 or held out for more? (this is assuming you bought it for registration fee.)

I have some experience with these kinds of domains, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy it. I know single therapists who would have bought it simply for the online therapy referrals they'd get--something that's growing like crazy.

Only so much time in the day to buy names..sigh

With the proper VC Funding, BEYOND WORTH IT!!!!!

Imagine it, patients that are agoraphobic... People who just can't find more than 20 minutes of time a day to even relax at home let alone drive to an office, etc.. You name it.

30 minute/45 minute/1 hour Online Therapy sessions with Video Chat and Web Cams is a VERY Feasible business and talk about money generating!!!

Those therapist get paid a SHITLOAD.

Solid pickup if the person plans on developing it as I mentioned above. If they plan on making it a message board or some shit... Waste of money.

LOL. I didn't even know it was for sale... did you? Need to check Sedo more often. Going to have to write a script to dig thru all the clutter.

I tried to buy a similar domain yesterday... $3,000,000 price tag. ouch. and Therapy.com is equal to it in quality. disappointed I did not check Sedo.

therapy.com was a excellent buy as therapy is definetely one part of the medical profession that can be handled effectively online.

IMHO should will be used as a portal for therapists like psychicweb does for psychics.

Wow, great post... very good business model... got any more ideas that you'd like to match to some of my domains? I'm a developer and have a lot on my plate and realize I can't build an empire alone. Short list: Official.com, Curious.com, Companionship.com, Planners.com, Morale.com, and 10,000+ more domains. I'm always looking for enthusiastic, energetic and like-minded people to join our team. (knowledge-for-equity and sweat-for-equity)

hit me up with a little backgrounder:

if anyone else is interested, let me know.

Yes it was worth it ... domains are a great investment - it's all about location and branding ... folks who have both are going to make bank!

yes, true.

I'm trying to find out more about http://www.hagerty.ws, directly/indirectly the new owners of the domain name or it's someone who works there (accdg to whois). looks like they specialize in jewelry/carpet cleaning... ???
