say I got a list of 100 links extractedfrom a webpage and I copy it to notepad. it there anything that would make them all HTML links?

i'm pretty sure you could use some kind of html editor like dreamweaver or frontpage select all of them and turn them into links...

What are you trying to do -- create an .html file based on the .txt file or append the text file with the anchor tags?

I have let's say 10 links on a list

Some downloadmanagers can batch download files, it should work with websites as well. take a look at download accelerator.

Replace and Find tool in Notepad.

Find: http://
Replace with: <a href="http://
Then click Replace All

if its a huge list, or its not a one off i could make a pretty simple script to do it

The actual script is 5-6 lines..

If he puts it in Excel it'll be easier-
Column 1 = <a href="
Column 2= The list of URLs he has
Column 3= ">
Column 4= Leave if you want some anchor text to make it better
column 5= </a> & add a <br> if you want each link on a seperate line

Then copy all and paste in notepad - save as Text
Close & reopen the file - copy a Tab - do a replace of the tab with nothing & you have your list.

It may be longer than what most of you programmers would do - but it gets the job done for us non-programmers
