I'm a girl and I always judge men by their handshake. I hate sweaty one and the ones that barely touch or hold your hand. Sweaty ones are on drugs or sleazy and the ones that barely hold your hand are wimps and untrustful.

very true... but doesn't it effect your first judgement about that person? to me, a firm handshake shows confidence, and weak one doesn't...

Well said, but you didn't mention the mucho hadshake. Guys that are so scared that you might think that they are gay or something, in fact I'm not sure what they are scared of, but they always try breaking your fingers with the first handshake.

I dont judge by handshake because me being black, the handshakes vary anyway. I can look into ones eyes and tell if they are real or not. What really sucks is nowadays in America you are judged by how much money you make and not personality. If you dont make good money, no one will ever know if you're a good person or not.

Weak handshakes definately tells something about a person, but it's just a factor. There is so much more than just a person's handshake.

I had good handshakes from poor as well as rich people. I've had the same with crummy ones. How sincere someone is has nothing to do with money and a handshake from my experience has been a very good measuring stick.

Eye contact is a biggie for me. I always look at the person I am talking to directly in the eye, I can tell some people get uncomfortable by it.

ABSOLUTELY! This might sound strange, but I'm an energy junky... when someone shakes my hand I can usually get a stronger read on them. First impressions are everything. The sincerity, amount of time contact is held, the force or grip, all go into the impression the person leaves. Clammy hands, weak grip, limp shakes, or those that seem tactile defensive (shy away from contact) all give off a snake type persona, its like their slimy and sneaky and cant be trusted. Someone who is forthright, puts their hand out there, nothing to hide, takes ur hand and shakes it firmly, makes eye contact, smiles, and greets you professionally, is must more pleasant to worth with, etc. Confidence is attractive & intoxicating!
