We were all new at one time or another, so I can empathize.

The worst part about the industry for the newbies today is probably listening to people spout out advice on things they know nothing about. Then there's those that DO know what they're talking about posting contradictory advice. The inevitable pissing match will then ensue.

Who do they believe and who's advice should they take?

I can certainly understand people getting confused about where to start nowadays.
