Check out the Dave Pelzer trilogy, "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy" and "A Man Named Dave" - the best written books that I've ever come across.
My last book is The Ghost of Flight 401, by John G. Fuller... or if non-fiction counts, then it was The Highway Code. ![]() |

Are we limited to just one book? I've read so many great books that it's hard just to choose one. My top list would include the following books in no particular order:
1) "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton 2) "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein 3) "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien (and all the other Middle Earth books) 4) "Stormbringer" by Michael Moorcock (and all the other Elric books) 5) "Dracula" by Bram Stoker 6) "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley 7) "Hobgoblin" by John Coyne 8) "Children of the Night" by Mercades Lackey (and all the other Diana Tregarde books) 9) "Dark Shadows" by Marilyn Ross (and all the rest in the series even though I've only read a small handful of them) 10) "The Man of Bronze" by Kenneth Robeson (and all the other Doc Savage books) I just finished my fourth Anita Blake book earlier this afternoon. "Guilty Pleasures" by Laurell K. Hamilton is another thrilling adventure of that adorable tough-as-nails vampire slayer. Anita Blake is 100% better than Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I still have four more books to read. In a way, the Anita Blake series reminds me alot of the Diana Tregarde series. I also love alot of the short stories writers such as Poe & Lovecraft. Oh, my favorite Classic book would be "Of Mice And Men." ------------------ I have a dream & you can share that dream too at Moongem Erotica Submit your galleries to Shemp & get archived [This message has been edited by Jamdin (edited 07-22-2001).] |

I haven't had much time to read since but favorite books I have read in my life... lets see... "Momo" "Conversations with God" (Book 1 is my favorite but read all three of them) "Little Women" "The World According to Shopie" All of Paolo Coello's books "Grace and Courage" by Ken Wilber "Care of The Soul" by Thomas Moore. Waiting by my nightstand are a few... "Drawing Down the Moon" and "Hands of Light" being the ones I want to get to as soon as possible ![]() Am sure I am forgetting several....wouldn't be surprised if I were ![]() ------------------ TeensCherry TGP Please come post your galleries ![]() Lightning Free Hosting Girls Host Gay Free Hosting |

1. Clockwork Orange
2. 1984 I have many favorites, actually I don't think there has ever been a book I didn't like. But, these are my top 2...I can still pick them up once a year and read them like it was the first time. ![]() Ahhhhh a good book is like heaven on earth, such a shame people don't read more than they watch TV/Movies. Don't they realize that the mind will conjure up much better visuals than watching TV/Movies...Kubrick films and a few others excluded. ![]() |

I have a lot of favorites.
All of Anne Rice. Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy was one of the funniest books ever. Jamdin's first 3 are on my list also. "Replay" by Ken Grimm. I read this years ago and they are just now getting around to making a movie from it. If you see it anywhere, get it. and I have my guilty pleasure. "A night in shining armor" by Jude Deveraux. I love Robin Cook. I don't have just one favorite. I can't even think right now of all the books I've loved. Red ------------------ Eroticopy When you care enough to use the very best. |

If I'm allowed a "Top 10" then in no particular order:-
A) Lord of the Rings by J.R.R.Tolkien (I haven't actually read it for over 3 years, because having read it 20+ times I've practically *memorized* it!) B) Any of the Diskworld books by Terry Pratchett C) The original Magician trilogy by Raymond E. Feist D) Snowcrash by Neil Stephenson E) Girlfriend in a Coma by Douglas Coupland F) The first 4 books of the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy by Douglas Adams (but not the 5th - and if you've never read them you're probably confused round about now...) G) Winnie the Pooh by A.A.Milne (well, it had to be said!) H) StrikingItRich.com by Jaclyn Easton (my all-time favourite web-related book, by about a million miles) I) Losing my Virginity (by Richard Branson) J) Engines of Creation by Eric Drexler I guess that sort of adds up to 10. |

"Heverly" By Yagher is one of my favorites. It's a great adventure story. In fact I think Johnny Depp but it best when he said, "A beautifully executed and poetic adventure with twists and turns that would make L.Frank Baum proud.
A really terrific read and ride!" Actually Nic Cage had some nice things to say. "In Heverly, Kevin Yagher combines breathtakingly detailed sculptures with deeply moving writing and emerges a renaissance artist. He has mapped his own country and mythology through his totally unique style. For anyone who wants to enhance a child's imagination and offer faith in the cycles of life. I strongly recommend Heverly - nothing will prepare them for such an emotional ending." - Nicolas Cage I think you can get heverly on the preorder site at Barnes and Noble.com http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/...ML/005556.html ------------------ <A HREF="http://usexfan.com/ebonypink/index.html" TARGET=_blank>RedShoe is: ![]() BoneProne Family Member |

WOW guys ... some pretty impressive titles there !!!
It's good to see that we are all such a litterate group, and that internet porn has not TOTALLY corrupted our minds ![]() Hey Boneprone ... you haven't added your 2 cents yet ... I would be really curious to what titles would compell you to burry your face in a good read ?? KEEP 'EM COMING !!! I am taking notes too, for my next visit to Barnes and Noble ... Maybe if we had 60 hour days, I could have more time to spend with a good book, or hell, any leisure activity ... FUCK ME !!! I don't know if anybody's been noticing, but the last 10+ posts I've made, I've had to go back and edit typos .... I need to take typing all over again ![]() ------------------ ![]() ![]() [This message has been edited by -=HUNGRYMAN=- (edited 07-23-2001).] |

For me, it's a tie between *Philosophical Investigations* and *On Certainty*, both by the greatest philosopher of the 20th Century, Ludwig Wittgenstein.

I wasn't born in this country, so I didn't start reading until I was in my teens.
And, I'm very bad with author's names, but here goes: 1. The Last Temptation of Christ 2. Black Beauty 3. To Kill A Mockingbird 4. The Winter Of Our Discontent 5. The Yearling 6. Stranger In A Strange Land 7. Damon Runyan 8. O. Henry 9. Suicide by Durkheim 10. Kipling And, that's the short list. :-) ------------------ Sin-Text-Because text sells sex. |

Nothing beats the hobbit and the lords of the rings, it's just the best you can get..
instead of just creating a plot and some small time zone / geographical settings, this guy just went and created a whole fuckin world with it's 5,000 years history and all... it's just the best ![]() then there's also 1984 I really enjoyed... but where do you guys get time to read with webmastering? been having difficulties lately ![]() guess I'll have to choose between partying or reading....... guess I'll delay reading for a bit =D |

I recently finished a book my mother gave to me quite a long time ago, but being in school, found it difficult to actually pick it up and read, with all of the other shit they had me reading...
anyways, i finished it, and have to say i was really impressed. i dont think its much of a 'guys' book, but the ladies should appreciate it, esp if they have a good, even bad relationship with their mothers. its called: Divine Sectrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. MY other fav used to be The Island of the Blue Dolphins.... but that was a long time ago! |

TSR is the best in short quick books. Both Margeret Weis And Tracey Hickman are brillant authors.
Tolkien is a legend but do none of think is a little long winded? ![]() My favourite series though would be "The incarnations of immortality" by Piers Anthony. And why oh why have you all skipped over the greatest book of all time The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy |

Brave New World was good.
But gotta go with my favorite of all time JD Salinger's Catcher In The Rye. Some other good books: Anything and everything written by Charles Bukowski. The Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis Watership Down, Animal Farm, 1984, Frankenstein (better than any movie ever made about Frankenstein), War of the worlds, The Invisible Man, Journey To The Center Of The Earth...so many others to name. The important thing is to just read...whether it's trashy romances from Harlequin or the Bible. eros ![]() ------------------ HEY CHECK OUT MY NUTZ! |
