$800 a month Sushi habit.

3 years ago I had never tasted Sushi. Mike D from SoulCash (who is bigger than me) forced me to eat some raw tuna, and salmon. Sushi was fine but it's a fuckin' scam. They fill you up with rice. That's their dirty little secret.

So I moved on to the not so popular, Sashimi. And now my monthly Yamakawa Sashimi bill is nearly $800 a month.

How the fuck did this get so out of hand? I never spent more than $60.00 a month on ANY restaurant or fast-food. And now here I am dropping at least $100.00 every time I go. And I don't even feel the desire to stop. That's what scares me.

I think I may get Ginger Root poisoning. I eat 2 or 3 bowls of ginger during my sashimi sessions. I eat there so much, the chef is now giving me complimentary orders of Sashimi. It's nice to go in on a saturday evening and get special attention from the sushi chef... but it comes with a healthy price tag. They even gave me a free shirt, and they have NEVER given them out to ANYONE, they don't even sell them. Getting that shirt is like getting the medal of honor. My order is just about to become a special on the menus. "Oh, I'll have the 'RedShoe', please"

Is this the advantage of earning more money? Do I stand to loose my money by letting it go to my head? This is fuckin' ridiculous, I need to stop.

By the way, if anyone ever wants to meet me in Toluca Lake for a round of Sashimi... just let me know.

anyway, maybe you should take a sushi making class and start buying raw fish at Bristol Farms or somewhere like that....probably way cheaper and fun as well especially with a chick.

800 is not that hard to spend on sushi

i go out maybe once or twice a month for sushi, it is easily 75-100 bucks per meal..assuming you bring someone with you. Hook up with a korean person, they will get you the special prices ;)

My wife and I always go every week for the early bird deal. The place we go to is real nice but from 4-6 it's real cheap so we can pig out for around 50-60 bucks. (that includes the beers and tip)
Cheap meaning $1 nigiri or sashimi $3 rolls and the chef knows us well so it's not just shit rolls, but good stuff.

Sashimi is also my favorite. Last spring I went Deep sea fishing in Charleston, Sc..I went with some friends and we brought our local sushi chef, we caught a large wahoo and he cut it up right there and we had fresh sashimi! He actually brought a little soy sauce and ginger...kinda weird eating some raw fish and it's still there flapping away.

Sushi is sooo damn addicting, if you ever in NYC you gotta try Tomoe on st marks in the village. This is probally the best sushi youll every have, tiny little place that you have to wait forever to get into, but its sooo worth it. They opened this place down the street from me that has 2 former chefs from Nobu in NYC, this place is the bomb for a nj sushi joint

Capitola has Paradise sushi... where you can order the satan roll which is by far the hottest thing I have ever eaten... i take people there tell them its hot they say I like hot... the chef tells them you dont want to order this they say fuck that i am a stud.. they eeact on peice and you can watch them turn red break out in real sweat and watch the water pour from their eyes.. Stuntpig and kc can back me up on this. Anyway the real menu is not on the menu and i have several rolls I have made and named.. my favorite is the million dollar roll... its ebi hamachi cilantro mango basil mac nuts tobiko and secret sauce. i love to go there and order a million dollars please and then pay $4.00 for it hahahahha.

Anyway I have eten suhi all over the world and this little place by my house is the best hands down I have had so far !

Here $14 CAD gets you all the sashimi you can eat, including my favorite, wild pacific sockeye (no bullshit low quality farm salmon). I usually have 30 pieces in addition to everything else I eat...

This is the lunch special though, for dinner it's $22. Going every day would put me at $600/mo CAD
