While I don't belive in God and much of that "stuff", I actually do belive in Karma, and can actually think about some situations were it kicked in real hard.

I never heard about karma until i got in this biz and started posting on message boards, lol

Karma simply put, it is the law of cause and effect. so no one religion has monoploly over it.

I actually feel sorry for a lot of you guys. So divorced from the basic laws of the universe.

Karma is not as trivial as "do bad shit" and it will come and bite you on the ass.

It's a much more sophisticated principle of cause and effect.

Bottom line is that like anything important, it requires a little bit more than reading a couple of lines of text on a computer screen.

For $6.33 you can go to Amazon.com and buy an amazing book called "Buddhism Plain and Simple", and it's some serious non-Tony Robbins shit that makes you see how your actions work, good and bad.

Trust me: I think religion is a crock. And lots of "religious" people abuse the concept of karma. That doesn't change the wisdom of its ideas, tried and tested by people for generations, independent of churches, monasteries or other stuff.

I don't care what anyone says...I believe in karma because I've been bitten in the ass a couple times and it hurts!! :(

Acutally, here's an example of karma that many of you will relate to:

When I was younger, I did some work for a guy who drove me crazy with demands: Change this, change that, endless bullshit in Photoshop that went on for weeks.

Fine, I thought, I'm getting paid.

Then the guy didn't pay me. Told me he couldn't pay me, that my fees were too high, blah blah blah, after the fact bullshit.

I threatened to sue him. Wrote letters. Showed up at his house.

Contacted his regular suppliers and guess what? They too go screwed.

Fast forward to a few years later.

The cocksucker is sitting on an outdoor patio with all kinds of friends enjoying his life, nice summer night. I see him and decide I'm going to embarass him so severly, this is my chance to "get my money's worth".

Instead, I walk up to the table, maybe 15 people, people stop talking, I simply look right at him, smile and walk away. Dead silence.

I can see how terrified he is that I will "out him".

I decide to give him another chance to pay me, short of desparate humiliation.

I never get a cheque. It's not a happy ending.

Another few years go by, I see him in a Starbuck's, look right the fuck at him, don't move my eyes from his face for one minute. He doesn't flinch, even with my eyes burning his ass open.

He walks away and I think "damn, that motherfucker must be so haunted with runnin that he's built up TOTAL DEFENSES".

I'm short $2k, but instead of literally choking the guy, I walked away, and I can honestly tell you that I needed that $2k LIKE CRAZY at the time, but I needed my peace of mind more, and now, years later, I see that as an "inadvertent" test of my peace.

That, friends, is karma.

Now, instead of seeing that guy as some devilish cocksucker, I see him as a guy runnin' from his shit.

BUT, he still owes me that money, yessiree. Difference is, I ain't wasting my life energy trying to make him into something he's not.

It's his karma, after all.

Not true. The universe it totally ordered. It's only the fragile ego in fear of losing its ground that thinks the universe is random.

Most people are understandably suspicious of false prophets and bullshit, and there's enough to fill Times Square on New Years. But when you meet someone that shows you how incredibly ordered it all is and how to play your part in it all, you stop clinging to ego, and start surfing it all.

The ego wants to control it all, but the person with boundaries sees what his/her control is really limited to, which is their own shit, which, paradoxically, ends up vibrating outwards.

I believe in karma. It happens.

It ain't a competition, but I can, with some certaintly, assure you that your life has been a cakewalk compared to mine. You don't go searching for answers to life's most profound questions until you've been in some of its darkest places.

American Buddhism and notions of karma have been made into slogans by yuppie yoga moms, but karma as a concept was generated out of some of the biggest human slaughter man has seen. Your life conditions would hardly nullify it. :)

Walk you're own road, believe what your limited mind tells you is true, but don't think that there's isn't order in the universe. Perhaps the first step is to realize that suffering is built into the universe. Things get easier once you accept that and the conditions that create suffering can also be reduced.

I also think you're busy lumping everyone into the same box. The porn business has no more or less ethical people than any other business.

Hey brother, I'm just trying to help clarify things for you. The point I was making with this is that your life condition has nothing to do with whether or not karma exists or has validity, so bringing up you living in a car is meaningless.

The idea of Karma is that there IS ultimately reward or punishment for ones actions...each and every action...it is just that the time in between the action and the reward/punishment, as you call the perceived outcomes, can be so long out as the unaware person does not see a correlation.

The idea that one is not 100% responsible and accountable for ones actions is misguided. This coupled with the fact that people tend to only perceive their actions as cause to attain rewards/punishments for themselves or the groups they identify with is also misguided.

So "do as thou wilt", but keep in mind that Karma will hold you accountable for your wants.

I personally believe in both Karma and God...I dont follow any one religion, I have my own spirituality...I believe that when people dont believe in anything its because they dont want to have any consequences to their actions. Believing in a higher being would mean they have to live their life a certain way and be responsible for thier actions, which most people dont want to do......most religions follow the same principle of karma but I dont believe its related to religion...jmo :2 cents:

I believe in something that could be called karma. But what I really believe is that there is some kind of "guardian angel" that I may have around me. For some reason, no matter how bad a situation can get, I can just hold the faith and somehow, some way, I will end up coming out of it relatively unhurt.

I realized that I was being watched back when I was a child and I was riding my bike on the road....Even though I was on a traffic free road and I was riding on the side of the street FACING the traffic, something told me to turn around and there was a black pickup truck on the wrong side of the road trying to run me over! I got out of the way and I knew right then that I had some kind of esp or something.

Maybe the rich and powerful people have done something great to others and that's why they deserve to be rich and powerful today.

I have the sanskrit karma symbol tattooed on the inside of my wrist (with some other stuff..) and fate on the other wrist (also with some other stuff)

If this is true, it explains why life is so easy now!
