846? You mean that's what you got at a trade show?

Wiggles 02-05-2005 04:38 AM

i don't think you should expect to make much first year unless you have a killer unique idea.

Trade shows are pretty much 100% useless if you aren't in the industry already. Asuming you are going there to do biz, not look at half naked girls. Hiring models???? Forget about models. Forget about rolex's, forget about paysites. If you want to make money learn the basics before investing your money into something you have no idea about. The 5 steps I wrote down will cost you $10 a year for a domain, $10 a month for hosting (you will have to upgrade, but you should be seeing sales by then ;) )

Do yourself a favor and close GFY right now! It's a waste of time, start building sites, there is no other way. Build build build and you will succeed.

just send me 1/2 the money you plan on spending on a career in adult and you will be 1/2 richer than you would have been

JimmiDean 02-05-2005 05:32 AM

Nobody is making money.

A successful membership site has 5 members after six months and 10 in a year - less 3 chargebacks, 2 bounced checks and one refund to a guy who can't play wmv movies on his Apple Mac. The other four members were really password traders who consumed 14 gigs/day in bandwidth.

But in the second year... things get better.

Well I wasn't thinking a website, but an adult company...the web just being another way to promote and distribute product...

As for the site, it'll be exclusive and full of cool stuff...

It seems like it's Vivid or Homegrownvideo or the like making the real money...all these webmasters are selling their content...I don't see referring people to another companies site as a sustainable long term business???????

Hey, I'm new...thanks for any slack...

Wow, you really are clueless..

go to http://trix.sexswap.com and read every newsletter, maybe that will open your eyes a little.

That little??? :winkwink:

I was thinking of setting up a paysite myself and have this idea I'll shoot my own content to save money. But I'm only interested in real porn stars like Jenna and want to give the members value, - just $9.95/month. I got a new credit card and I'm going to buy a Sony ZingBlah 5432 camera and get a local hotel room as a set. I've already got a good hosting account at geocities and signed up with iBill....

Has anyone got Jenna's phone number?

PS Check thru GFY and there are posts just like that! :)

TakingOver 02-05-2005 09:36 AM

You all think that with exclusive unique content, promotion in trade shows and events with models right there live, a good payout affiliate program, submitting urls to free gallery/movie posts, that I'll get maybe 5 good members in one year?

TakingOver 02-05-2005 09:43 AM

Playboy grossed $30million last year on online memberships according to their annual report.

Der Schleicher 02-05-2005 09:58 AM

porn rules as long as there are full blooded men like us.
