Very interresting thread. Magg owns himself yet once again. Webair Owns Magg and sets the record straight. But none of the established real hosts (other than Webair) will even waste their time on a punk like Magg. You got to Love gfy. BTW Great job Webair, this Foundrynap Ownage thread was long overdue. :thumbsup

Funny how the hosts are fighting here

frankfortuna 02-04-2005 12:21 PM

I'll be at Equinix on Tuesday if you want to give me a tour of your infrastructure.

swedguy 02-04-2005 12:29 PM

Nothing beats a good host fight :)

Holly 02-04-2005 12:30 PM

There should be some kind of dual "caged death match" deal as the finale for webmasterboxing.

The penis pill/extender guys in one cage... the adult hosts in another.

I thought Magg was a high school kid, is he even old enough to attend? :1orglaugh

TheGoldenChild 02-04-2005 12:42 PM

All I know is I have a very knowledgeable hosting guy staying with me in SD- Tom from Blue Gravity...

He flipped out when he saw how fast Foundrynap.com was and he couldn't figure out how we were fasster than him as well as Nat Net- Once he saw how things were set up , he was VERY IMPRESSED with Chris and Foundrynap

I like to rep Foundrynap because of the service, and pricing we can offer webmasters.

I am not out to make friends here I am out to make happy customers-

If you want to be a happy customer- email [email protected]

I'd like to make you happy!

Is isprime the only webhost with a 10gig-e connectivity?

chaze 02-04-2005 01:38 PM

10g-e

What does it matter if they have a customer that uses 90% of the bandwidth. It's not like they have 10 gig e's open for everyone.

If they do actually have it.

We have a customer that uses 200 megs but I would not put him on the same network as our shared customers. It would be foolish to risk the other to save couple bucks by not opening a new port.

basically 100 meg line is fine, I would not recommend anything over that per network otherwise all your eggs are in one basket.

Could be useful for movie content servers for example. You can have a 1000 mbit uplink in stead of 100. So you are not limited. Useful IMO.

But who am I :-)

I would doubt anyone is going to give you a gig uplink and not put anyone else on it unless YOU are paying for it all. :2 cents: :2 cents:

Just found this thread and I thought I'd post some things.

1) Savvis is definitely a Tier 1 provider as they peer with all the other Tier 1 providers. They purchased Cable and Wireless USA and have one of the best networks in North America.

2) What is with the "Foundry nap aka steadfast aka nozoneinc aka xtremebandwidth aka nexgen" statement? We have always been NoZone, Inc. and now operate under the name Steadfast Networks, and it is clearly listed on our site that Steadfast Networks is a division of NoZone, Inc. We have no relationship with FoundryNAP other than the fact they are a client, as you pointed out. We have our own network, our own routers, etc. We do not hide anything.

3) Nick Catalano was never more than a tech support technician, which is a job he was qualified for. He has not been an employee of NoZone, Inc. for a number of years now.

SGS 02-21-2005 01:37 AM

Its threads like this that make us very happy that we host with Webair and NatNet. :2 cents:

When you say Nick Catalano are you talking about the owner of Foundrynap? The person we refer to as Magg? Chris Gotzman?

beemk 02-21-2005 03:25 AM

and that is horribly oversold pure-cogent. All 5 of their gig-e lines peak at 99% utilization during the day.... which in laymans terms mean you aren't going to hit your 20mbps.

if you want real, non-oversold, bandwidth from premium carriers... see ICQ in sig.

Dont think its that bad, I run my whole paysite off that package and with over 1000 members not a single complaint yet... I myself get max speed my connection will allow when downloading, no matter what hour of the day :winkwink:

If you are looking to leave FoundryNAP, we can offer similar packages at equivalent or lower prices. Feel free to visit our site for details or give us a call at 312-602-2683.

KarlZimm 02-21-2005 07:49 PM

Sorry, I would just like to clarify, we are only looking to take on new customers. Any current customers of FoundryNAP feel free to contact us regarding support for your systems, we will need to work out some type of service agreement though.

JohnnyUtah 02-21-2005 08:20 PM
