This is a tough one actually because I have benefited with a lot of good info from here but there have been a lot of heart wrenching stories from the 9/11 threads to sarah to people worrying about loved ones they hadn't heard from in the tsunami.Comment

Personal tragedy threads, at least the ones that ring true ...while they don't impact my life in that they don't affect how my life is lived...touch me. What I don't understand is why people post their personal tragedies on the board, unless it's for cathartic reasons...in which case I understand.
I think 9/11 impacted me the most, especially when I realised how much the rest of the world disliked Americans so much, they openly posted about it...which I thought was a low blow....their negativity and glee over something that devastated us as people and as a country....well, it's something I won't forget and it has had an impact on my business model.
One personal tragedy that did affect me was Sarah's telling of her husband's death. I could feel her anguish to my roots, as her love for her husband is similar to the love I hold for mine. And, then the comments that were made which were so cruel, amongst the beautiful sentiments by others....those are the ones I choose to remember, rather than allowing the cruel ones to stay in my being.
The only other one would be when someone called me a scammer...which directly impacts my business....and I never understood why he called me that, since he got fucked by the same people who fucked me. I've never had anyone accuse me of scamming. Those who know me know my rep is integral to my business.....since my clients share some very intimate financial details with me and trust is imperative.Last edited by Raven; 01-30-2005, 04:05 PM.Raven
