2 of the biggest scammers to avoid..
Nick Nolter ( You gaming guys know who I'm talking about ) Shawn Dolven MANY companies both in the States AND Europe know of / have been scammed by this prick.. |
If you do something like that and make the list public, you better make sure you have non-refutable, rock hard evidence it is true for your own protection or you may get some people that file a lawsuit.
|
i think it is a good idea. there are plenty of people here who have been ripped off.
although i would make it a valid scamming list. not one where a person was late with a design or there was confusion about payment, blah blah blah. too many people here are too quick to scream scammer when the word should not be used. all in all though, good idea. |
... whatever you do, don;t put perfection jeff on that list, he is just missunderstood.
|
Its like the better business bureau if they tried to keep up with all the scammers they wouldnt be in business. instead they just get all honest people to sign up with them. much easier and better. afterall if you go to sign up with a sponsor or a traffic provider or a web host, and they're NOT listed with you... thats enough to raise some eyebrows (assuming a vast majority of service providers ARE listed with you). You could also make it decently profitable(paying yourself a salary - non profit of course :p) charging for listings just like acsap or whatever does.
|
Now, is this a serious thread or???
I dont feel comfortable posting it in public, even if I have 110% bulletproof evidences on my hand. But I like the idea of creating a fair and neutral website, in which the hole community, affiliates and paysites are supporting. Not only names, but also type of scam/shaving and certainly proofs. |

|
Well we aint gonna post someone if there is no viable evidence or proof for that matter
|
True this has been brought up before esy way to do this site actually. Just throwing out ideas and brainstorming for now.
|
For example if you submit something like I am doing 1:20,000 with this sponsor he is shaving I am gonna reply to you come back with solid proof.
|

Contracts and all the documents that pertain to the deal and its lifespan from beginning to end are the key to getting down to what really happened on both sides.
As an idea...... Establish a webmaster guild that trains new folks as downstream affilaites, works with its members and policies the disputes internally. You would be able to maintain quality control and consistency across your members for the longer term. Its a hard line to walk since everyone wants to be #1 but, networking is the key to any business to be successful...... There is a lot of ideas that you can explore on this angle. |

I think if you make a list there should be a feedback option..kind of like ebay where people can rate the level of the scam..maybe say a few words about how it went down..maybe instead of stars youc ould use the gfy smileys.. 2symbols and ..your an average run of the mill shitbag....5 gfy smileys..and your a big league pile of elephant shit :2 cents:

How about a FAQ "how to avoid scam" too?
I mean, many webmasters dont really get suspicious before its too late. Not getting money is quite obvious, but the biggest problem is shaving(?), and lots of nasty tricks can easily be avoided if you just now how and where to look. And this is 100% legit. Like other people you do biz with, wants information about you, you should also make it a habit to check out who and what you are dealing with. |
Very good idea!!
